Sold to me as Pink Pillar from Vintage Gardens. I am convinced that Eternal Flame and Pink Pillar are the same variety and prefer to use the name Eternal Flame.
Thought I lost this one at the end of last summer. The bush had been in decline for a few years and it only sent up one cane for the entire summer. I decided to let mother nature do the shovel pruning for me and did not bother to protect it this past winter. But, as if to prove me wrong, three giant basal shoots are coming out of the ground. I dug a little bit in the ground to see if it was the rootstock but it isn't. Guess I'll try to see if I can get it back to where it used to be.
