Most pictures here are from my garden collection of roses in Minnesota in 28 different classes covering many centuries. There is an emphasis on ramblers which in the USA, I think could become hard to get possibly disappearing altogether.Other aspects of the garden enhance the roses or are simply part of my personal likes.
My house has been sold and with it the garden. Several rosarians came and dug up roses before the house was sold.
I have moved and retired to Laguna Woods, California. A much kinder climate for growing roses for someone that did it in Minnesota for twenty plus years in subzero temps.
My experience in Laguna Woods, CA since moving here in 2016 has been excellent. I've grown roses I've wanted most of my life. 2019 brought a nasty fall in April and I am now in my fourth year of recuperation. Two duplicate roses I grew of Paul's Lemon Pillar and Souvenir de Claudius Denoyel are now at the Huntington Rose Garden near Pasadena thanks to Tom Carruth, its director and a brilliant rosarian. I was afraid my roses would be done away with due to my health issue.
I grow a limited selection of varieties now and I have had to severely prune some to be able to maintain them.
